Happy birthday to myself!
Top 10 reasons I plan a party for myself
10: I plan the party the way I like it
9: I love spending money on myself
8: I love attention
7: When I don't plan nothing happens and I get a bunch of blogs wishing me happy birthday-thanks btw
6: 26 years of age isn't usually a big b-day---when I turn thirty who will be project manager for that?!?
5: I like reasons to do things I already do every weekend
4: I love gifts
3: I don't trust michael planning one
2: Michael would never actually plan one
1: Because there is no shame in the game of planning your own party!
What I actually did on my birthday:
I got a balloon at work that said happy birthday
I got home and went to dominicks with michael--there I picked out my own piece of cake which I only ate because Michael did not want one.
I got home and made nuggets and pizza in the oven.
As we ate dinner Michael wished me Happy Birthday.
......He also bought me an waterpack thing for snowboarding. 39.99 tag on there wrapped in newspaper--AWESOME!

First of all, you are talking to the Queen of Self-Birthday Planning. I throw myself one every year, because, after all, who can truly appreciate and celebrate the day of your birth but yourself. Second of all...you should have made Michael get you the cake by himself, although he would've gotten lost and you might have had to spend your birthday by yourself. Lastly, go get yourself a really expensive outfit or spa day and when Mike freaks out hand him the pricetag that says 39.99 and tell him it was on sale at a 50% discount!
D-
I totally agree - planning your own bday is the best. I love making my bday a big deal and just doing whatever i want! There is no shame in it whatsoever...and people all usually end up having a good time anyway. I hate it when people say "oh, i don't want to make it a big deal or anything" or..."could you set it up for me?" GET OVER YOURSELF!
ok happy bday...sounds like you had a good one. this saturday will have a lot to live up to.
